Elise Dufour, Of Counsel at BIGNON LEBRAY law firm, was elected president of Cyberlex

Elise Dufour, of Counsel at BIGNON LEBRAY law firm, will chair Cyberlex for a duration of two years.

Elise Dufour, attorney-at-law, member of the Paris Bar and a specialist in new technology law at BIGNON LEBRAY law firm, has been appointed chair of Cyberlex for a two-year term. For 20 years, the association has brought together lawyers, magistrates, technicians and professionals in the digital technology market. Together, they reflect on the impact of technological innovations in the areas of economics and law. In a spirit of openness, they also comment on legislative orientations, judicial affairs and positions taken by various actors in the field of new technologies.

As a member of Cyberlex for 14 years, Elise Dufour intends to focus her mandate on the issue of personal data protection, in parallel to the application of the new European regulation (RGPD) on personal data protection which has to be complied with by the companies of the member states of the EU by the end of May 2018.

“Being elected President of Cyberlex is a real honor. At the time of the entry into force of the General Data Protection Regulation, this responsibility is an exciting challenge” has commented Elise Dufour.

Elise Dufour has graduated from the University of Paris V with a Master’s Degree in Business Law and holds a LLM in IP / IT law from Queen Mary University. She has been involved in various issues related to new technologies from the very beginning of her career. By working in the Intellectual Property & Technology department of BIGNON LEBRAY, Elise Dufour has been assisting French and international clients, both in consulting and litigation matters, in dealing with their digital projects thanks to her mastery of computer law, personal data law and the law of electronic commerce.
