Bignon Lebray strengthens its corporate law practice – Mergers & Acquisitions and contract law and creates an India Desk with the arrival of Jean-Marie Tocchio as partner in Lyon

Bignon Lebray is pleased to welcome Jean-Marie Tocchio and his team to strengthen the firm’s expertise in transactions at the confluence of major industrial projects, complex contract law and M&A. Bignon Lebray’s India Desk also gets materialized by a representative office established in New Delhi.

Jean-Marie Tocchio joined the Lyon office of Bignon Lebray on July 1, 2020 as a partner.

With more than 21-year experience, first as an associate and then as a partner of Adamas, Jean-Marie has developed a dual expertise in complex contract law and corporate law, particularly for state-held companies (SEM, SPL).

He advises on a daily basis various players in heavy industry (energy, chemicals, metallurgy/automotive, defense, aeronautics, transport, industrial equipment manufacturers) in their development and expansion, through the elaboration of internal projects (new technical processes in cooperation, creation of industrial sites) or structural and external growth operations, whether in France or abroad. Jean-Marie’s main contacts are the legal, commercial and operational directors of international groups, as well as the leaders of SMEs and ETIs.

Accompanied by his associate, Amair Farooqui, since 2013 he has also been developing business relations between France and India, assisting French companies in setting up and managing their commercial relations or local structures (joint ventures, subsidiaries, international trade transactions, search for partners or acquisition targets) and Indian companies in starting up their activities in France.

Jean-Marie and his team often assist their public and private clients, companies or associations, in setting up partnerships in France or with foreign players and also participate in structuring the financing of these transactions.

Commenting on this arrival, Jacques Goyet, Chairman of the Management Board, said, “We are delighted to welcome Jean-Marie Tocchio and his associate Amair Farooqui, whose arrival at our firm will help develop and expand Bignon Lebray’s service offering geographically with the opening of an India Desk. Their expertise in advising on issues related to the creation, implementation and adaptation of industrial sites or projects involving crossed skills at the junction of different areas of law will underpin the high quality of the legal advice we strive to offer our clients“.
