BIGNON LEBRAY assists French and foreign companies as well as public entities in their contractual and contentious dealings in the fields of logistics and transport, whether carried out by land, by sea or by air.

Legal services are specifically rendered in the following areas:

  • maritime law: in ocean transportation-related litigations involving shippers, forwarders, carriers and insurers; as well as shipyards and ship-owners for their construction contracts, seizures of ships, maritime events, etc.;
  • road transport: in regulatory and contentious matters under internal regime or CMR, land insurance, related operation (moving, storage …)
  • rail and air transport: liability of carriers in domestic and international traffic, trading of charter contracts.

In addition, our team works on regulatory issues between operators and public authorities (e.g. obtaining, renewing or transferring the required approvals or transport licenses, particularly in the context of asset sales).

Moreover, we advise transport infrastructure management bodies (mixed companies, public institutions) in litigious (e.g. use of dry docks) and non-litigious matters (e.g. tramway funding).

Finally, our expertise has been strengthened, particularly through the activity of our public law and finance specialists, acting on behalf of Transport Organizing Authorities, sponsors or lenders for the award and execution of public service delegations / Public-Private Partnerships in the area of rail, air and road infrastructures, up to the point of gaining a 360° view of the transport sector.
